How does your media product represent particular social groups?

My media product uses a model to whom is wearing heavy makeup and fancy dress clothing, all of which has been recycled and reconstructed. The target audience for Vibe magazine are young people from around 17-26 who wear designer labels, statement heavy jewellery and care about reputations alot, whereas the target audience for my media product consist of young individuals who couldnt care less what people think of them, these kind of people could go a couple of days without washing. The age market is for 17-24 year olds who enjoy raves, individuality and truth. The ways i have represented the indie/rock/metal group would be young whie people, this is only because when researching and analysing current media products, i hadnt seen any black people used to model or feature throughout, this is mainly becasue black people are more associated with rap and hip hop. I am in no way biased towards white people and have no problems with featuring people of black/asian race in my magazine.
Popstar! magazine is aimed at 10-16 year olds, though i feel 16 is far too old to be 'reading' this kind of magazine, as it is hardly even reading. On Popstar! magazine, many well known Disney chanell stars are used, this attracts the readers as the majority of children this day in age watch Disney chanell daily. Unlike Kerrang!, Popstar! uses all stars who have never been in any sex/drugs/drink scandals, this is becasue they are trying to represent their own social class
, which would be to have the children stay angelic and sweet and not to turn into nasty little hormonal teenagers, whereas on my front cover i have used a model as the joker who has fictionlly killed people and commited multiple offences against the law.
